Thanks so much for your commentary Steph and sharing your personal experiences. Our role as debriefers is to help our learners reflect on performance and I think as debriefers we need to be just as reflective of our performance. What impact did we have, what could have been done better and what worked and we should do again? Seeking feedback from our peers and participants is vital for this and how we receive that message will (I believe) directly influence the learnings we take away from the feedback conversation. Having a difficult debriefing tool can also help these feedback conversations i.e. feedback to the debriefer on what strategies they used to manage a situation and what ones they could use in the future if faced with the situation again.
